June is Workplace Safety Awareness Month
Did you know that every year more than 100,000 Pennsylvania workers suffer a serious job-related injury or illness and more than 70 die in a work-related incident? These alarming statistics led Gov. Tom Wolf to proclaim June 2017 as Workplace Safety Awareness Month to highlight the issue, especially since some injuries can be prevented.
At Tri Rivers, we know that healthy, vibrant workers are the lifeblood of every company. When injuries do happen, we strive to be your partner in delivering quality comprehensive care to all injured workers so they can return to work successfully and in a timely manner. Our board-certified physicians treat sprains, strains, fractures, contusions, crush injuries, cuts, lacerations and amputations, as well as concussions.
As your partner, we want to be a resource to help promote safety in the workplace so your workers can stay healthy and productive. Below are some general tips that employees can use to reduce stress and eliminate injuries at work.
Tips for preventing workplace injuries
Promoting safety in the workplace is a team effort. Accidents and injuries are preventable, and both employers and employees must be engaged, educated and aware of the hazards and safety concerns in their workplace. Although we highlight workplace safety month in June, please remember that workplace safety should be a priority all year long.
